WELCOME to PALISADES BAPTIST CHURCH
Palisades Baptist Church exists to worship the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and to be one of Jesus’ faithful churches in and for our city.
With God as our Father, we gather as a family, a fellowship of brothers and sisters, a household of faith. Because Christ is our Lord, we are His disciples, seeking to follow Him and to “grow up into Him in every way.”
We are also Jesus’ sent people, empowered by the Holy Spirit to celebrate and declare the Gospel, in our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, and to the ends of the earth.
Church Distinctives
We are a welcoming community of believers, formed by the Word and Spirit of God, that aims to worship the one true God and equip His people to live as evermore faithful disciples of Jesus Christ.
Explore our church distinctives below.

A WELCOMING COMMUNITY OF BELIEVERS...
We grow as disciples in a grace-filled family, not alone.
Our faith is best lived and learned in a welcoming, loving, and grace-filled community. We welcome one another as Christ has welcome us. In Holy Communion, even the Gospel is pictured as a gracious invitation to come as a family to the Lord’s Table. Because God calls Christians to live as part of His family, we do not have what we need to follow Christ on our own. We must grow up into maturity together. As His people, Jesus has promised to form us into His dwelling place by the Spirit.
(Rom. 15:7; 1 Cor. 10:16–17; Eph. 2:19–22; Eph. 4:11–16; Heb. 10:24–25)

FORMED BY THE WORD AND SPIRIT OF GOD...
God’s Word and Spirit create, correct, and renew us as a church.
We believe that the church is a “creature of the Word.” There is no church without God’s perfect and powerful Word, which bears witness to God's eternal Word made flesh: Jesus Christ. It is through Scripture that the Holy Spirit makes God known to us, convicts us of sin, leads us to repentance, and forms us as we respond to God’s love. We receive the Spirit’s renewing work in our community as we submit every area of life and ministry to Christ’s gracious authority.
(Ps. 19:7–11; Isa. 55:10–11; John 1:1–3, 14; John 5:39; John 16:8–15; John 17:17; Acts 2:37–42; Eph. 4:11–16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Tim. 3:16–17; Heb. 4:12; 1 Pet. 1:23–25)

WORSHIPPING THE ONE TRUE GOD...
We worship God the Father, along with the Son and Spirit, in response to our creation and salvation.
We worship one God, the Father, together with His eternal Son and the Holy Spirit, a Trinity of divine Persons who are one in Godhead and so equally worthy of worship. God created all things through His Son and is, in Christ, saving creation from the curse of sin by the Spirit. Having been baptized into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we respond to God's covenant love in the Lord Jesus Christ with the obedience of faith and adoring worship. As we do so, the Holy Spirit enables us to know God more and more as His beloved children in Christ.
(Matt. 28:19; Luke 22:19–20; John 4:23–24; Rom. 1:5; 1 Cor. 8:6; 2 Cor. 13:14; Gal. 4:4–7; Rom. 8:14–17; Eph. 2:18; Col. 1:15–20)

AND EQUIPPING GOD'S PEOPLE...
We equip believers for maturity and for using their gifts to build up the church.
We aim to provide God's people with support, tools, teaching, and relationships that help them grow in communion with God through Jesus Christ and by the Spirit. We want Christians to understand how the Gospel has changed them and to be ready to share that hope with others. The church is Christ’s body in the world, and as the head of the church, Jesus Christ gives all believers spiritual gifts that are needed for the whole church to grow up into Christlikeness. Every Christian has a role in strengthening and serving fellow believers. One role of the pastor is to be a lead equipper and developer of our people’s gifts.
(1 Cor. 12:4–27; Eph. 4:11–16; Col. 2:6–7; 1 Pet. 3:15; 1 Pet. 4:10–11)

TO BE EVERMORE FAITHFUL DISCIPLES.
As we follow Jesus together, we trust the Spirit to mature us in Christ, for God's glory and our good.
We strive to become more and more obedient disciples of Jesus Christ, not by self-reliance but through prayerful dependence upon the Spirit’s work within and among us. The Holy Spirit enables us to live out our new identity in Christ as He strengthens, encourages, and equips us for worshipful obedience, service, and Gospel-witness. As we grow in faithfulness, God is glorified, people are blessed, and we find our true satisfaction in relationship with Him.
